Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) Terming implementation of UNSC resolution as the only viable solution to the lingering dispute of Kashmir the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan has said that Kashmiris in Indian held Kashmir were fighting for their inalienable right, the right to self-determination guaranteed to them by international community as well as the leadership of India and Pakistan.

The AJK premier made these assertions while talking to various delegations that called on him here on Thursday. He said that the people of Indian held Kashmir want a free, fair and impartial plebiscite under the UN auspicious to determine their political future. “Governance is not the problem of the people in Kashmir, though they have been provided special status under the article 370 of the Indian constitution Kashmiris but they have been fighting for their legitimate right, the right to self determination”, the PM said adding that the solution to their problems lie in the UN Security Council resolutions.

Lauding the people of Kashmir for their historic struggle against Indian occupation the PM said that it was this heroic struggle that Indian army officials were admitting it publicly that Kashmir has slipped away from India’s hand. “It is in the best interests of India to read the writing on the wall”, the PM said adding that the day was not far when Indian army will run away from Kashmir. He said that Indian army officer’s statement that Kashmiris hate India was tantamount to confession of defeat and a sign of victory for the people of Kashmir.
Meanwhile, the AJK premier Raja Farooq Haider Khan and Federal minister for Kashmir Affairs Birjees Tahir have expressed serious concerns over the ceasefire violations by Indian troops across the line of control. They also voiced concern over the stepped up human rights violations and continued detention of Hurriyat leaders in Indian held territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Both the leaders on the occasion reviewed the progress over the ongoing development projects in Azad Kashmir. Expressing satisfaction over the performance of the incumbent government led by Raja Farooq Haider Khan, the federal Minister said that PML-N government was performing its duties well in line with people’s aspirations. He assured the premier that federal government would provide all available resources to the government for speedy progress and prosperity of Azad Kashmir. He said that as per the vision of former PM Nawaz Sharif concerted efforts would be made to bring progress and prosperity in the region.

Reiterating Pakistan’s political, moral and diplomatic support to Kashmir cause, he said the issue of Kashmir was raised vociferously at the UN in a befitting manner saying that Pakistan would continue to raise the voice of Kashmiris at all international forums.
