Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan inaugurated three-day Lahore Qalandars Jazz Rising Star T-20 Cricket Tournament at the picturesque Stadium of Muzaffarabad here on Tuesday.

Besides AJK Premier, the inaugural ceremony was attended by AJK Minister for Sports Ch. Muhammad Saeed, Information Minister Mushtaq Minhas, Shoukat Shah, Sardar Farooq Skander, Noureen Arif and others whereas prominent cricketers Aqib Javed, columnist Hamid Mir, CMO Jazz Shabaz Maqsood, Chairman Lahore Qalandars Rana Fawad and office-bearers of PCB as well as a large number of cricket lovers were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion the AJK PM, while thanking the organizers and sponsors of this event, said that it was a welcome development that will attract youth towards healthy activities. He said that private companies who are working in the region should take a leaf out of this wonderful experience and play their role in promoting sports culture in Azad Kashmir the way Lahore Qalandars in collaboration with Jazz did.

Earlier, national anthems of both Pakistan and Azad Kashmir were played before the game started. Following the inaugural ceremony, the first match of the T-20 Cricket Tournament was played between Muzaffarabad Rising Star and Rawalpindi Rising Star wherein Muzaffarabad Rising Star set a target of 119 runs which was chased by the Rawalpindi conveniently for the loss of 3 wickets. The second match of the tournament was played between Sargodha and Gujranwala teams, in which Sargodha stars defeated the rival team by chasing the set-target of 121 runs for the loss of three wickets.
