Islamabad: (Parliament Times) The president of Azad Kashmir Sardar Masood Khan on Monday said, “The inattention of the international community on the genocide of Rohnigya Muslims is a matter of serious concer”.

The President made these remarks in a meeting held here with the Shah Ghulam Qadir, Speaker of AJK Legislative Assembly at President Secretariat, Islamabad. The duo discussed in detail the situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir and the massacre of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar. “UN Peace keeping forces should immediately intervene and enforce a ceasefire so as to put an end to the persecution of the Rohingya population”, the president said.

Both the leaders expressed their concern that human rights organizations and world powers, especially the permanent members of the United Nations Security Council have adopted a dual standard when it comes to the rights of the Muslims all over the world.
AJK president was of the view that the recent visit of Narendra Modi to Myanmar and his tacit support to the killings further accentuates his communal hatred for Muslims.

“The Rohingya Muslims have been living in Myanmar for centuries and have yet to be recognized as citizens just on the basis of religious discrimination”, he said adding that the homes of the displaced Rohingya Muslims have been razed to the ground; they have been burned alive; their women dishonered and their children slaughtered ruthlessly.

The Islamic countries, he said, “Should take notice of the planned genocide of the Rohingya Muslims”.

President Sardar Masood Khan and Speaker Shah Ghulam Qadir said that the Indian forces in Kashmir were ruthlessly persecuting Kashmiris. They said that the international community should not in any way remain silent over the situation in Myanmar and occupied Kashmir. “People of Azad Kashmir and Pakistan will always support the unarmed indigenous freedom struggle in occupied Kashmir”, the said.

AJK president also proposed the Government of Pakistan to send teams to help Rohingya Muslims saying that the people of Azad Kashmir will also actively participate in relief activities.
