RAWAT : (Parliament Times) Lack of a slaughter house has forced the residents of Rawat to use unhygienic and unhealthy meat.
Butchers shops are spreading queues upon queues in all the markets and all the union councils of Rawat but how strange it is that no slaughter house is operating therein.
This state of affairs has given free hand to butchers to supply meat of sick and semi dead animals to the citizens. The unhygienic and sub standard meat has been recovered from butchers’ shops during scores of operations conducted by concerned management.
“ we pay price of one kilogram meat more than what the citizens of Rawalpindi city are paying but even then what we get, we can not forget because stale and unhealthy meat is sold out to us by the butchers. The administration is also showing leniency towards butchers. But the highly painful factor is non construction of any slaughter house in this areaâ€, said a group of citizens.
The government is appealed to set up a slaughter house immediately to pre-empt outbreak of any fatal abdominal disease, demanded the residents.
