Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) has admitted a petition for preliminary hearing against disqualified Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for contempt of court.The petitioner did not appear before the court during the hearing, upon this the proceeding for hearing was adjourned for indefinite period. The petition was filed by Mehmood Akhtar Naqvi pleading that disqualified Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was stimulating the masses by issuing statements against the judiciary.

The petitioner in the petition stated that anti-judiciary statements are clearly contempt of court. He said judiciary cannot be scandalized under the constitution. He said that petitions and review petitions could be filed against judiciary verdicts under the constitution. He prayed the court to take action against former Prime Minister under article 204 of the constitution for committing contempt of court.
