ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has said if war on terror has to be won then US will have to lend support to Pakistan rather than demanding do more.
“ US should join hands with Pakistan in war against terrorism rather than making wrong claims that Pakistan is providing safe havens to terrorists. Because we are all facing threat of terrorism equally. US should not ask for do more to win war against terrorism but it will have to work along with Pakistan on this count”, this was said by foreign office spokesman Nafees Zakria here Wednesday while reacting to US new policy about South Asia outlined by president Trump.

There is no such country in the world which has given more sacrifices than Pakistan in war on terror, he said Neglecting Pakistani nation sacrifices in US president statement is highly disappointing, he added.
Pakistan is pursuing the policy of not allowing its soil to be used against any country, he remarked.

He went on to say Kashmir issue is major impediment on the way of peace in the region.

Pakistan reiterated its resolve that it would continue to work with international community to defeat terror forces besides promoting peace and stability in South Asia. However peace and stability will remain elusive unless Kashmir issue is resolved, he added.

He held military option is no solution to Afghanistan issue. A 17 years long military action could not turn Afghanistan into a peaceful country. The military action in future would also not bring peace in Afghanistan.

.Only an Afghan-led, Afghan-owned politically negotiated solution can lead to sustainable peace in Afghanistan, he observed. .

In the interim statement issued by FO it was said US president Trump new policy about South Asia was discussed in details during federal cabinet meeting. National Security committee will meet on August, 24 and afterwards detailed reaction of government of Pakistan on this policy will be issued.
