QUETTA: (Parliament Times) Balochistan government is endeavouring to promote agriculture sector on modern lines so that the peasants could enhance the production of different food grains by adopting scientific method of agriculture.

The Director General Provincial Agriculture Department told our correspondent, a project of promotion of higher efficiency irrigation system is to be launched in the province at a cost of 320 million rupees.

Similarly, oil extraction machines would be installed for olive and juices of various fruits in Khuzdar, Naal and Musa Khel areas of the province at a cost of 35 million rupees.

Likewise, a project of establishment of Agriculture workshops in Pishin and Dalbandin districts is to be completed at a cost of 110 million rupees.

He added that these measures would help introduce modern technology in agriculture sector and making the province self-sufficient in production of various types of fruits and vegetables.
