Islamabad/Rawalpindi: (Parliament Times) The Education authorities’ persistent poor policies, have deprived thousands of students of admission in the first year class of various colleges located in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
According to sources, the authorities had taken several initiatives which had favored their personal interests and status-quo instead of resolving the crises of falling education standard across the country, hence, thousands of students stood deprived-of admission in the first year class.
Around 33 colleges are functioning including Model and FG in Islamabad. Over 1000 students got admissions in post graduate colleges, while 500 students got admissions in other education institutions.
The merit fixed for Science and Art Group was 700 and 500 marks respectively.
Meanwhile, 725 marks merit was fixed for admission in Rawalpindi colleges due to which around 67873 students who had secured third, second and first Division remained deprived-of admissions. Due to poor policies of authorities, the students were forced to take admission in private education institutions. The private education institutions have started increasing the fees and extorting money from students.
There are four famous colleges including Gordon, satellite town, Asghar Mall and Sir Syed College in Rawalpindi, however, no new Boys college has been set up in Rawalpindi for the last 40 years.
