Karachi: The strike of All Pakistan Oil Tankers Owners Association will begin today (Monday) across the country, where no oil tanker will distribute oil to the stations
All Pakistan Oil Tankers Owner Association gave a deadline to government for resolving their demands, however, the government failed to negotiate with the association, after which announced the strike.
All Pakistan Oil Tankers Owner Association Chairman Shams Shahwani claimed that motorway police and traffic police officials have created hurdles in their distribution process by implementing the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) safety regulations. He said that owners are being forced to spend Rs1 million on every tanker in the light the new OGRA safety regulations. He further said that strike will move-on for indefinite period until the strict policies of government are reviewed. He said that around 85,000 tankers are used to supply oil throughout the country.
