Rawalpindi: (Parliament Times) A plan has been devised to start development projects worth Rs870 million for the areas located in union councils of Rawalpindi Municipal Corporation.
The projects are likely to be completed in two phases, while the project plan has been finalized by Mayor Rawalpindi Municipal Corporation. The first phase contract of development projects worth Rs 370 million will be tendered on 26th July. Moreover, Mayor Rawalpindi Municipal Corporation Sardar Naseem Khan has summoned details of development schemes worth Rs500 million for the 40 Union councils located in Rawalpindi Division.
According to sources, the proposals of development projects recommended by ruling PML (N) are likely to be included in plan, while rejected the plans of opposition parties members. A decision has been taken to complete the development projects of 2nd phase in short time, as the general elections time is coming nearer.
The development package of Rawalpindi Municipal Corporation includes construction of streets, up gradation and refurbishment of sewerage system, installation of street lights, water supply projects. Education and health projects, construction of sports grounds and other related development projects are also included in this.
