ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office on Wednesday summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner and condemned the unprovoked firing by the Indian occupation forces in Baroh and Tandar Sectors on Tuesday.

The firing was resulted in martyrdom of two civilians, including one woman in Barho Sector, a man in Tandar Sector and injuries to six others.

The Director General South Asia and SAARC deplored the deliberate targeting of civilians and termed it contrary to international human rights and humanitarian laws.

He urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 Ceasefire arrangement and investigate incidents of ceasefire violations.

He asked the Deputy High Commissioner to instruct the Indian forces to respect the ceasefire in letter and spirit and maintain peace on the Line of Control.

The Director General also called upon the Indian side to permit UN Military Observers Group in India and Pakistan to play its mandated role as per the UN Security Council resolutions.
