Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) The Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan has said that the incumbent PML-N government was working well on its set agenda and the good news for the people of the region was that rates of water usage charges have been increased to1.10 rupees per unit whereas power purchasing pact has been agreed upon with federal government.

He said that regarding the amendment in act 1974 a high level committee has been working on the matter. On Kashmir he said, “In presence of the UN resolutions we will not accept any other solution”. He said that five-thousand posts have been created in the budget. He said that subsistence allowance of Kashmiri migrants will be increased by 500 rupees per head whereas 400-Kanal land would be purchased to settle Kashmiri refuges on permanent basis.

He said that a hefty package of 50 crore rupee has been allocated in the budget for holding local body elections. He said whatever suggestions and proposals were given by the opposition and the government legislators would be implemented and incorporated accordingly in the budget.

“I invite all the opposition parties to come forward and support the government in its efforts to put the State on the path of progress and development”, the PM said.
He said, “In order to ensure supremacy of justice and merit in the region we all will have to work together collectively”. He said salaries of legislators have been raised as per the requirements; however, those who don’t want to take it can donate the amount of money to Kashmir Liberation Cell or any other charity organization.

Clarifying his government’s stance regarding 12 Pakistan based migrant seats the PM said, “Migrants seats can not be abolished as they [migrant community] settled in Pakistan is part and parcel of our body and soul”. On Shariat courts, he said rather than abolishing government was trying to make them more pro-active.

Terming Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif as biggest sympathizer and supporter of Kashmiri people Khan was of the view that the judicial activism was bound to create anarchy in the region. “Whatever is going on there is not good for the country”, he said. “The people who are cheering JIT today will have to face the consequences by themselves tomorrow”,

Stressing the need for a strong democracy in the country the PM said that no one except the politicians presented themselves for the accountability. He said “It was Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto who were made accountable and then Yousuf Raza Gilani appeared before the apex court and now the PM has presented himself for the accountability”. To the contrary he said, “Nobody sought accountability from general Ayoub Khan, Yehya Khan and Musharraf”.
