Karachi: (Parliament Times) Flaying International community’s silence over India’s naked aggression in occupied Kashmir the president of People Party Azad Kashmir Chudhary Latif Akbar has said that uniform clad school girls fighting against well equipped occupation forces on the streets of Srinagar should serve as an eye opener for the world community.

The PPP president expressed these views while speaking at a TV talk show here on Sunday. He said that there was a face to face battle in IHK. “On one side there are uniform-clad unarmed girls while on the other there are occupation forces that are armed to the tooth”, he said. He was of the view that effective lobbying on Kashmir at international level has badly been affected due to lack of competent leadership in Pakistan. Akbar said that Pakistan premier’s recent meeting with Indian businessman Sajjan Jindal at Murre had sent negative message across the line of control.

He said that Pakistan has been advocating Kashmir cause at international level and Kashmiris people fighting against India’s illegal domination have pinned high hopes on the country. Akbar said that it was quite unfortunate that Prime Minister Sharif has maintained silence over the issue of Kashmir. He said that as a result of incumbent government’s weak foreign policy the important neighbours like Iran and Afghanistan were wary of Pakistan. To the contrary he said that when Asif Ali Zardari was president of Pakistan, the presidents of Iran and Afghanistan were seen standing on his left and right side at every important occasion.

He said that PPP founder Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto had provided a strong basis for the resolution of Kashmir dispute whereas Shaheed Benazir Bhutto had the privilege and honour of setting up OIC’s contact group on Kashmir at Casablanca wherein Kashmiris were also given representation.

He said that India has lost its battle in Kashmir against Kashmiris and in order to hide its fiasco Indian forces were now targeting civilian population by resorting to unprovoked firing on the LoC.
