Islamabad: (Parliament Times) Reiterating his pledge to raise the voice of Kashmir at every international forum, the president of

Thereek-e- Insaf (Kashmir chapter) Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chudhary has said that India, after taking Kulbushan Jahdav’s case to ICJ, has paved a way for Pakistanto move the world court over human rights violations being committed against Kashmiris  by Indian occupation forces.

 

The PTI chief said this while speaking at an Iftar Dinner hosted in honour of the newly elected body of All Kashmir News Papers Society,(AKNS), chief editors and editors of Kashmiri news papers here on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, the PTI president briefed the participants about his recent visit and said that during

his visit to America and other European countries, not only the international community was apprised of the grave human rights situation in the occupied Kashmir, but concern and sympathy was expressed by all the forums over the death destruction unleashed by Indian forces in the valley.

 

Expressing optimism over the changing world scenario Barrister said that international community was gradually realizing what was happening in the restive region besides acknowledging our [Kashmiris] view point regarding early and peaceful settlement of Kashmirdispute. He said that biggest change that has taken place at international level is that following  the last year’s mass uprising in Kashmir, international community now seems even more forthcoming towards Kashmir.  “They are very keen to know our point of view on the issue but there is a need to raise the issue at all forums with more vigor”, he said.

 

He said that Pakistani and Kashmiri Diaspora community was also ready to promote Kashmir cause but they need proper guidance. “Over 1.5 million Pakistanis and Kashmiris settled in the United Kingdom can play important role in the upcoming elections. The PTI chief said that he had asked the Kashmiri expatriates to vote

for those candidates who support our principled stance over the issue of Kashmir. Barrister said that during his public awareness campaign he had attended scores of public meetings in UK. He expressed the hope that the number of all parties Kashmir committee in the British parliament would cross 100 mark this time.

 

Regarding his commitment to Kashmir cause, Barrister said that he would utilize his all out resources to project and promote Kashmir cause at International level, “It is in this context that I have decided to stage a protest demonstration against Indian Prime minister Narendar Modi in Hamburg, Germany on the occasion of G-20

Conference on July 8 to seek attention of the global media and G-20 leaders towards Kashmir”.

 

Accusing Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif of maintaining criminal silence over Kashmir Chudhary said that innocent people were being killed at LoC and it was quite astonishing to see that the PM has maintained silence over the issue. He said that history bears witness to the fact that whosoever betrayed Kashmiris had
faced dire consequences.
