Rawalpindi: Decision has been taken to launch air conditioned express bus service on two different routes of Rawalpindi including Karal Chowk and Rawat to new Islamabad airport.
According to media reports, District Regional Transport Authority while completing home work on directives of Punjab government has sought offer from private transport companies in this regard.
Under the directives of Punjab government, District Regional Transport Authority (DRTA) Rawalpindi has completed homework and invited offers from the private transport companies. Those transport companies which are providing their service at national and international level will also be eligible to apply for participating in this process.
Secretary regional Transport Authority Khalid Yameen said initially 67 air conditioned buses with 30 seats capacity will be launched on two routes.
He said one route is specified from Rawat to district Katcheri, Saddar metro station to Haider road to Peshawar road and from Peshawar road to new airport while the second route is specified from Karal Chowk to Katcheri Chowk to Saddar and from Saddar to Peshawar road and then at Airport adding fare of buses on these routes will be determined later.
