Islamabad: Renowned Kashmiri liberation leader and pioneer of Al Fatah Movement Dr. Abdul Aala has passed away.
Aala 70 breathed his last on Wednesday at a local hospital where he has been under treatment for last couple of days.
Dr. Aala who was suffering from various ailments was put on ventilator early this morning in Muzaffarabad, after his health conditions further deteriorated.
Aala who is reckoned as one amongst pioneering leaders of Alfatah movement was forced to leave his home town Shopian after Indian secret agencies launched a witch hunt against him.
Ultimately he along with his family was forced to migrate to AJK way back in 1991.
Aala by profession was a medical doctor but being a passionate freedom fighter he remained wedded to Kashmir cause till last breath of his life. It may be recalled here that Dr. Aala had played proactive role in Muttahida Mahaz agitation. He has been a close associate of PPF patron in chief Fazal Haq Qureshi. In 2005 the PPF chief nominated Dr. Aala as his party’s representative in Hurriyat’s AJK chapter. Currently Aala was in charge of foreign affairs.
Over the past couple of years he had been living with his son Dr. Usman in Tanzania. He had recently returned from Tanzania to Muzaffarabad where his health condition deteriorated suddenly and was shifted to CMH for the treatment.
Dr Aala is survived by three sons, wife and a daughter.
Meanwhile, nimaze jinaza of deceased leà der was held at University Ground in Muzaffarabad. The funeral prayers was led buy his elder son Dr. UMER Aala and attended by a large mumber of people including Hurriyat leaders and members of Kashmiri migrant comunity.
Besides APHC leaders the funeral parayer was attended byJI chief Abdul Rashid Turabi, Daniyal Shahab of Jamiat Ahale Hadees, Khawaja Farooq of Tehreek Insaf syed Faiz Naqashbandi, Gh. M Safi, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, Hassan ul Bana, Altaf Hussain Wani, Mir Tahir Masood whereas members of doctors fraternity were also present on the occasion.
Speaking briefly on the occasion, kashmiri leaders while paying rich tributes to Dr. Aala’s peerless cpntribution to ongoing struggle said that the deceased leader was a staunch freedom fighter who served the noble cause selflessly. They said that dr. Aala would be remembered for a long time in the annals of Kashmir history for his polotical and social services.
Meanwhile, the deceased leader was laid to eternal rest at grave yard at ceterlplate Muzaffarabad.
