Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC), Syed Ali Gilani has strongly denounced the detention of Hurriyet leaders, activists and imposition of restrictions on the movement of the people on the death anniversaries of prominent martyred Hurriyet leaders, Molvi Muhammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar termed it the worst kind of state terrorism, adding that the Indian government and its stooges in the territory could not suppress the liberation movement through use of brute force.

He said that the authorities were playing a dangerous game by not allowing Hurriyet leadership to carry out its political activities in a peaceful way. He said the situations in the territory are turning from bad to worse

Criticizing BJP and PDP led coalition, said that their brute approach towards resistance camp had evolved an explosive and appalling situation in the occupied territory.

Commenting on the submissive approach of PDP for securing favors from Delhi, Syed Ali Gilani said that they had virtually handed over reigns to Jan Sangh cadre and following their dictates with their eyes folded.

He also flayed the authorities for invoking draconian law, Public Safety Act, for the second time against Tehreek-e-Hurriyet leaders Abdul Ghani Butt, Abdur Rasheed Butt, Mashooq Ahmad Butt, Imtiaz Ahmad Mir and Merajuddin Naiko, and shifting them to Kotbhalwal jail in Jammu.

Meanwhile, Hurriyet leaders Farida Behanji, Khawaja Firdous, Muhammad Shafi Lone,Tehreek e Shabab-ul-Muslimeen, Jammu and Kashmir Islamic Movement and Kashmir Freedom Movement in their statements in Srinagar paid rich tributes to prominent martyred Hurriyet leaders, Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone, and said that the Kashmiri people were indebted to the invaluable sacrifices of the great martyrs and no one would be allowed to play with these sacrifices.
