Mirpur AJK: The Chief Secretary of Azad Kashmir Dr. Ijaz Munir on Friday said that all the government officials should perform their national duties with honesty and with spirit of patronage and should ensure observance of attendance and discipline in offices.
Addressing a meeting of Divisional and District Officers here in Mirpur the AJK chief secretary said, “The quality of the development projects should be brought to attention and once the project started it should get completed in time. No project should even get revisedâ€. Commissioner Mirpur Division Sardar Zafar Mehmood Khan, DIG Sardar Rashid Naeem, DC Mirpur Ansar Yaqoob, DC Kotli Raja Arshad Khan, DC Bhimber Ch. Guftar Hussain, SSP Raja Irfan Saleem, ADCG Raja Muhammad Farooq and other government officials were present on the occasion. He maintained that officials and employees should provide best service to the public and should take care of their dignity.
“There is no extra cost to improve services, only one needs to correct his behaviorâ€, the chief secretary said. “Development department must step up their progress so that the benefits of the public welfare projects started by the government should reach to the publicâ€.
“To provide health, education, means of communication, water and other facilities to the public is our responsibility and no negligence or carelessness will be tolerated in itâ€. Dr, Munir said. Addressing the meeting Chief Secretary Dr. Ijaz Munir expressed his anger on the pending projects of sewerage and water supply and directed the officers to complete them quickly and if they found any obstacle or difficulty they should bring this in notice of Commissioner Mirpur Division so he can bring it in my notice and these projects should not get delayed more.
He appreciated the implementation of National Action Plan on whole division by the officers and said that this is a national interest and safety plan and no negligence can be tolerated in National Action Plan. The officers who took great initiatives for the National action plan throughout the division are laudable. He also instructed for the completion of Rathoa Haryam Bridhe and the new city and small towns for the affectees of Mangla Dam. He further advised the officers that they had to take all the possible measures for the progress and prosperity of the area including the betterment of poor people is a part of their duties and they should provide best services to the public.
Later, the Chief Secretary Azad Kashmir chaired separate meeting of Mangla Dam, MDA and MDHA. He instructed to complete the new city and small towns which comes under the Mangla dam raising project and should complete the remaining projects.
Local Government officers brief the chief secretary about their departments and progress of their projects.
