Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan has said that his government would encourage and facilitate foreign investors besides providing them legal protection for a safe and secure investment in the region.

AJK Prime Minister while talking to a Chinese delegation said that AJK offers a conducive, peaceful and friendly environment for foreign investment and government would take necessary steps to ensure full protection of investors.
In order to gain full benefits and to exploit natural resources including hydro power generation‚ minerals and tourism in Azad Kashmir the prime minister said all out efforts would be made to encourage and promote foreign investment in different sectors saying that the region had a vast potential in industrial and hydroelectric power sectors.

Appreciating Pak-China relationship he said that both countries have enjoyed a long-term consistent goodwill towards each other and the brother country China has always supported Kashmiris in testing times. He said Chinese companies also played pivotal role in relief and rehabilitation activities in AJK after the region was hit by deadly earthquake way back in 2005. He said that Chinese companies/firms were also working on different mega power projects. Terming CPEC as masterpiece of China-Pak friendship the premier said that the multibillion project would usher the entire region into new era of progress and economic development.

The Chinese delegation headed by Mr. Tony expressed their desire to invest in different sectors particularly hydropower generation, tourism and in the field Information Technology. The prime minister on the occasion assured the visiting delegation that his government will fully co-operate with investing companies besides providing all possible help and facilities to them. He said that Investment Board has also been setup to provide legal protection to foreign investors. The delegation also offered an invitation to PM AJK visit China. Prime Minister Raja Farooq Hyder accepted the invitation.
