Islamabad: (Parliament Times) The Kashmir beat reporter’s team led by Abid Abassi emerged as victorious in the final match of Inter-Media cricket tournament thereby beating rival team of RIBJA headed by Sardar Nisar Tabusm here yesterday (Monday).

The day-long tennis cricket tournament organized by Kashmiri journalist community was participated by 11 teams including Daily Parliament Times, Kashmir Beat reporters eleven, Kashmir Express, Electronic Media, RIBJA and Kashmir Link teams, Sad-e-Chinar, Gilgit Baltistan Journalist Forum, Kashmir Post and Jammu and Kashmir respectively. In the inaugural match of the tournament Daily Parliament Times eleven defeated the defending champion Kashmir Times eleven.

Earlier, the match was inaugurated by Razia Sultana the daughter of renowned Kashmiri leader Muhammad Yasin Malik, whereas AJK senior minister Chudhary Tariq Farooq, Helath miniter Najeeb Naqi, Mushal Malik, Afzal Bhat president PFUG, president National press club Shakeel Anjum, Vice president AJK press foundation Amjad Chudhary, PTI secretary information Raja Mansoor, Raja Shujjat and CEO of United Marketing Mr. Assad and others were special guests on the occasion.

Whereas chief editors and editors of the respective news papers showed their lively presence in the tournament thereby spending whole day bucking up the participating team players. Those who were present included Amer Mehboob of Daily Jammu and Kashmir, Javed Iqbal Chudhary of Daily Parliament Times, Sardar Abdul Hameed of Daily Country News, Amjad Chudhary of Daily Sada-e-Chinar, Banaras Chudhary Daily Kashmir Times, and editors including Raja Kafeel Khan of Daily Jammu and Kashmir, Khawaja Mateen of Kashmir Link, Ejaz Abbasi Sade-e-Chinar, Basharat Abbasi of Daily Ausaf, Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Dar of Kashmir Post, Secetary General KJF Zahid Akbar Abbasi, Ex-advisor to AJK PM A H Kazmi and others.

Speaking on the occasion the AJK minister and PML-N leader Chudhary Tariq Farooq paid eulogizing tributes to event managers for organizing the tournament. He said that besides providing entertainment opportunity to journalist community the organizers have done marvelous job to bring together the journalists hailing from all the three regions of the state. Mashal Malik the wife of JKLF Chairman appreciated Kashmiris’ struggle for right to self-determination. She said that Kashmiris have been fighting against Indian illegal occupation and India was using its military muscle to suppress the voice of freedom in the region. She expressed the hope that that was not far when Kashmiris will achieve their cherished goal of freedom.

At the end of cricket tournament AJK Minster Chudhary Tariq Farooq presented trophy to the captains of wining and runner up teams.
