Bagh: The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Hyder Khan has said that he has neither taken a bribe nor given away bribe to someone saying that none can ever buy or sell him as he was not a salable commodity.
The AJK premier made these assertions while addressing a function held in connection with the death anniversary of former Legislative Assembly speaker late Major ® Muhammad Ayoub Khan at Bagh on Saturday. Pertinently the former speakers is said to have played significant role in the passage of Khatm-e-Nabuwat resolution during his tenure as speaker of the legislative Assembly of Azad Kashmir.Speaking on the occasion Khan said that love for prophet Muhammad (SAW) was a great asset of our life. The faith of Muslims he said was incomplete unless they hold beloved prophet (SAW) dearer than all his belongings. Appreciating the former speaker for the effective and efficient conduct of business in the House, the PM said that deceased leader was a man of integrity and honesty. He announced that University of Bagh will be named after Major ( r) Muhammad Ayoub.
The AJK premier said that he was strictly committed to his agenda aimed at providing good governance, a merit based system and transparency at all levels besides serving the people of the region who he said have given his party the mandate for next five years. He said that his life was like an open book, “Those who want to know about my assets and bank balances are free to seek information regarding my assets”. He said that ministers of the former government during their private meetings admit it that they lost previous elections because of widespread corruption and malpractices by their government. He said that good work by the rulers is always remembered by the people. “If you work against the interests of common masses Allah turns their hearts and minds against you”, he said.
He said that he has always respected people and never used abusive language against any one whosoever. “I don’t criticize any one but if we behave the way the former governments behaved then our future would even worst than the past rulers”, he said adding that former PM Abdul Chaduhary in his personal capacity has done lot of work but his intentions were not good.
Of those who spoke on the occasion included, Col. Retired Abdul Qayyum Khan, information minister of AJK Muhstaq Minhas, Member legislative assembly Abdul Rashid Turabi, Sardar Sagheer Khan Chughtai of MC and others.
