The APHC Chairman, while rejecting the inquiry announced by Deputy Commissioner Kupwara into the incident, said that the probe commissions announced by the puppet authorities were unacceptable as till now not a single culprit was prosecuted or brought to book. “The armed forces are directly targeting civilians. They have virtually waged war against civilians and are carrying massacre under a well-thought-out plan,” he said.

He asked New Delhi to accept the disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir and take steps towards settling the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations.Meanwhile, the APHC spokesman in a statement in Srinagar strongly condemned the arrest of Dukhtaran-e-Millat Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi, along with her secretary, Fahmeeda Sofi. He said that it was highly deplorable that Indian forces raided the residence of Aasiya Andrabi in pitch of darkness at Soura in Srinagar and jumped above the gate and entered premises to arrest them. “The Indian armed forces are not following any ethics nor are they respecting the dignity and sanctity of womenfolk. The detention of Aasiya Andrabi and Fahmeeda Sofi is unjustified,” he said. The spokesman said that Aasiya Andrabi was suffering from multiple ailments and if anything untoward happened to her, the puppet administration would have to face consequences.
