KARACHI: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan inaugurated mega NADRA Centre in North Nazimabad area in Karachi on Friday evening.

Speaking on the occasion, he directed the NADRA officials to provide the best possible facilities to people on the centers.

The Minister said that with the establishment of mega centers, facilities of issuing computerized national identity cards and other credentials have been improved.

He said present government believes in delivery and service and all institutions are being strengthened so as to make them more vibrant.

The Minister further directed the staff to ensure transparency and accuracy in process of identification to eliminate the fraudulent practices.

Talking to newsmen in Karachi on Friday, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said that one hundred seventy two thousand national identity cards have been blocked across the country while over one hundred fifty thousand are being scrutinized.

He rejected the impression that five hundred thousand CNICs have been blocked in Karachi.

The Minister said that NADRA mega centers are being established in the country to provide better service.

He said that in Karachi three such centers have been established in North Nazimabad, DHA and SITE area of the city at a cost of three hundred and seventy million rupees.

He said that these centers have a capacity of processing three thousand applications daily
