Islamabad: (Parliament Times) AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan has said an Investment Board would be set up to facilitate and provide legal protection to overseas Kashmiris intending to invest in the state.
Talking to member of British House of Lord, Lord Qurban Hussain who called on him at Kashmir House Islamabad, he said overseas commissioners would also be appointed in all districts of AJK. The Prime said Kashmiri expatriate settled in the United Kingdom are playing a commendable role in highlighting Kashmir issue and for the development and prosperity of the liberated area.
Terming the overseas Kashmiris as backbone in the development and progress of Azad Kashmir, Raja Farooq Haider said government is not oblivious of the problems being faced by them. He said government is taking steps under a well-planned strategy to address the problems of Kashmiri expatriates. He urged the overseas Kashmiris to highlight Kashmir issue with unity and in concerted manner at this critical phase of Kashmir liberation struggle.
Commenting on the prevailing situation in Occupied Kashmir, he said unarmed people of Kashmir equipped with the spirit of freedom had forced India to lick the dust in the occupied valley of Kashmir and brought the Kashmir issue in limelight with their unprecedented sacrifices.
He said Indian atrocities, inhuman acts of Indian forces and gross violation of Kashmiris peoples’ human rights need to be highlighted at international level to expose India before the world. He urged influential members of Kashmiri community in UK to play their role for preventing India from committing war crimes in Kashmir.
Speaking on the occasion Lord Qurban praised the AJK government for taking important steps for addressing the problems of overseas Kashmiris. He also lauded the government of Raja Farooq Haider Khan for bringing reforms in education sector, re-constitution of Public Service Commission and merit based appointments in judiciary of the state.
