Faisalabad: Under the arrangements of Integrated Reproductive Maternal New Born Child Health and Nutrition Program “Stabilization Center” has been set up at Pediatric Ward of Allied Hospital which was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani here . Chief Executive Officer District Health Authority Dr. Nawazish Goraya, MS Dr. Rashid Maqbool, DHO Dr. Asif Shahzad, District Coordinator Program Dr. Abdul Sattar Qureshi, Incharge Pediatric Ward Dr. Asghar Butt, Dr. Bilal Ahmad, other doctors were also present on the occasion. Deputy Commissioner took a round of center and appreciated the medical services provided for mother and child. He directed the health department to achieve the targets of nutrition week under Integrated Reproductive Maternal New Born Child Health(IRMNCH) programme. He said it was a dire need to raise awareness about preventative measures and parents must take to protect infants from epidemic diseases. He said the concerned officers to expand the scope of the nutrition week to rural areas as well. He emphasized the need for fulfilling proper nutritional requirements of new born during first three years which plays pivotal role for nourishment. CEO DHA Dr. Nawazish Goraya informed that nutrition week would be continued from 10th to 15th April and during the week Lady Health Supervisors and Lady Health Workers would visits door to door and in this campaign specially women would be educated about hygienic and sanitation, maternal health, breast feeding, vaccination, family planning and other measures to prevent various disease. District Coordinator IRMNCH Programme Dr. Abdul Sattar Qureshi told that during the nutrition week 179822 expected children under the 6 to 59 months would be treated while 26640 pregnant women, 213122 couples were also informed to care their health. He said that 396 teams would perform duty during nutrition week consisting of 693 Lady Health Workers and 35 Lady Health Supervisors. Later Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani also visited gynecology ward and waiting lounge for the relatives of patients of gynecology. He appreciated the steps of revamping the gynecology ward and establishment of state of the art recovery room equipped with the latest medical machinery and said that the measures expansion of different wards and operation theatre of Allied Hospital would help to treat the patient with ample facilities. He assured his all out cooperation for the betterment and development of the Allied Hospital for providing best health care to the patients of this region.
