NOWSHERA: Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani said on Tuesday that enemy forces want to pit Muslims against each other and that a conspiracy is being hatched against Islam.Addressing Jamaat-e-Ulema Islam (F)’s International Ijtema held in Nowshera, Rabbani said that Islam is being defamed and termed a terrorist religion.
“Western forces want to create chaos in and infighting between Muslim countries,” he said, adding that these forces are unfortunately succeeding in their designs.
Terming the JUI-F gathering important in the current national and global political scenario, Rabbani called for reiterating that Muslims are one and united and will defeat any conspiracy against the Muslim world.
He strongly condemned US strike on Syria and asked the government to call a joint Parliament session and hold consultations regarding Pakistan’s stance on the matter.
“The government’s stance should be in line with the country’s interests. The government should present its stance in the United Nations after holding consultations,” he said.
Opposition leader Syed Khursheed Shah also addressed the gathering, terming Pakistan the fortress of Islam.
Shah said that it is the responsibility of the politicians of Pakistan to come up with solutions for challenges faced by the Islamic world.
