Islamabad: (Parliament Times) Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) has approved the constitution of 137-members Overseas Pakistanis Advisory Council (OPAC) comprising prominent overseas Pakistanis from across the world. The decision was taken in 138th meeting of OPF Board of Governors held at OPF Head Office.
The newly formed OPAC is mandated to serve as a feeder group to the OPF Board of Governors on issues pertaining to Pakistani expatriates and to suggest welfare measures for overseas Pakistanis besides furnishing proposals regarding policy formulation beneficial to overseas Pakistanis and motivate the local Pakistani community living abroad to send remittances through legal channels.
On this occasion, talking to Chaudhary Ansar (Advocate), a prominent overseas Pakistanis, the Chairman OPF OPF Board of Governors, Barrister Amjad Malik said that the present government attaches high priority to the overseas Pakistanis and is keen to promote, nurture and sustain a mutually beneficial and productive relationship between Pakistan and Pakistanis. He said that Pakistani expatriates are playing vital role in improving the economy of the country and they deserve special attention. He said that provision of more facilities and resolution of problems being faced by overseas Pakistanis is the top most priority of the government of Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
The Chairman shared the names of OPAC Members from UK including Naeem Ul Hassan, Dr. Abdul Hafeez, Aneel Mussarat, Father Falak Sher, Rafique Malik, Raja Aftab Sharif, Shakeel Qamar, Samina Khan, Ilyas Gondal, Azra Meadows, Raja Sher Akbar, Zubair Gul, Raja Javed Iqbal, Zubair Iqbal Kiani, Wajid Shams-ul-Hassan, Barrister Shahzada Hayat, Shama Hussain, Dr. Suhail Chugtai, Wajahat Ali Khan, Naeem Abbasi, Mirza Naeem Ur Rehman, Muhammad Ajeeb and Muhammad Iqbal.
