Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) The AJK Health and Finance Minister Dr. Najeeb Naqi has said the government has launched number of programs to improve healthcare services in Azad Kashmir despite limited resources.
Talking to newsmen in Muzaffarabad on Tuesday, he said infrastructure of health department is being upgraded and free emergency services are being started in the state soon. He said government has signed an agreement with a pharmaceutical company to provide free treatment and medicines to patients suffering from Cancer. The AJK Health Minister said over nine hundred vacancies have been created under Health Package to overcome the shortage of staff in government run hospitals.
The health Minister said for the first time in the history of Azad Kashmir patients of blood cancer diseases are being provided free of cost medicines of international standard. He said that free emergency medical service is being launched soon under which all district hospitals of the state would provide healthcare services to the patients round the clock. He further said that Community Infrastructure Development Program was launched by saving the state resources through financial discipline. All possible measures have been taken to make the community Infrastructure Development Program transparent and free of corruption, he said.
