ISLAMABAD: (Parliament Times) The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and

Kashmir, Raja Farooq Haider Khan, on Monday called on

Newly elected President of Pakistan People’s Party ( PPP) Azad

Jammu Kashmir Ch Latif Akbar and discussed with him the

matters of amendments in the interim Act of 1974,Kashmir

Liberation Movement and others.

Speaker AJK Legislative Assembly Shah Ghulam Qadir, newly

elected senior vice president of PPP Azad Kashmir Ch Pervez

Ashraf, Secretary General Faisal Mumtaz Rathore,Secretary

Information Sardar Javed Ayub and Additional Chief Secretary

AJK government Fahat Ali Mir were also present on the

occasion.

The Prime Minister congratulated the newly elected office

bearers of Pakistan People's Party Azad Kashmir, and said, for

resolving the national issues political leadership should stand

United. He said that on the matters of national interests he

wanted to take all parties and stakeholders on the board. The

prime minister said all suggestions will be included in the draft

of recommendations for constitutional amendments. He said

consultation with the entire political leadership on the matter of

constitutional amendments in the interim Act of 1974 is under

way.

“We are supporters of development rights of Gilgit-Baltistan

and would not create any hurdles in the way. There is a little

difference on mechanism which would be settled amicably”, He

added.

Earlier talking to a delegation of journalists PM AJK said that

steps would be taken for the progress and promotion of media

and welfare of journalists.
