Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) The Pakistan Day was celebrated throughout Azad Jammu and Kashmir Thursday with national zeal and fervor and renewal of the pledge to continue struggle till the goal of liberation and accession to Pakistan is achieved.
The day dawned with 21-gun salute in the state capital while special prayers were offered in mosques for the progress, prosperity and solidarity of the Pakistan and early liberation of occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The Pakistan flag along-with AJK flag was hoisting on major public and private buildings.
Functions, Seminars and Rallies were held all over Azad Kashmir to mark the day. It is a closed holiday in the liberated territory. Various political, social, religious, educational and other organizations have chalked out special functions to highlight the significance of the Pakistan Resolution that paved the way for the creation of an independent homeland for Muslims of the subcontinent. All the three stations of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Radio aired special programmes on the occasion.
Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan while talking to different delegations after attending Pakistan Day Parade in Islamabad said that people of Jammu and Kashmir were struggling to complete unfinished agenda of the partition of subcontinent. He said Indian illegal occupation of Kashmir is part of Indian policy to keep Kashmiris enslaved under the bayonets of guns but Kashmiris have defeated Indian repressive policies with unmatched courage and determination. He said India out of frustration is targeting innocent civilians at Line of Control but she could never suppress the Kashmiris urge for freedom and their love for Pakistan. Raja Farooq Haider Khan said of Kashmiri will relentlessly continue till Kashmir is liberated and become part of Pakistan. He said Pakistan came into being in the name of Islam will continue to exist on the face of earth and conspiracies of its enemies were destined to fail. He said the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was successfully marching on the path of progress and prosperity. Terming unconditional support of UN Security Council to CPEC as diplomatic breakthrough, AJK Prime Minister said with completion of CPEC Pakistan will emerge one of the strong countries of the world economically. He said UN Security Council in support of CPEC also brushed aside Indian reservation on the project, which is great success of Pakistan.
