Islamabad: (Parliament Times) President Mamnoon Hussain has said Pakistan-US cooperation is important for elimination of the menace of terrorism. He was talking to Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhary in Islamabad on Thursday.
The President said Pakistan has always promoted the cause of peace and security in the region and is fully alive to its responsibilities in this regard.
He said Pakistan itself has been a victim of terrorism and its people have rendered immense sacrifices in the war against terror.
The President said indiscriminate actions is underway against terrorist under operation Radd-ul-Fasaad. He said Pakistan is determined to root terrorism once for all.
President Mamnoon Hussain said Pakistan wants closer relationship with the United States in all spheres of life. He said the United States is an important ally of Pakistan in areas like economy, energy, trade, health, defence and counter-terrorism.
He asked the Ambassador-designate to focus on projection of Pakistan’s positive image besides persuading American enterpreneurs to invest in Pakistan.
He stated that rapid changes are occurring in the world at the moment. There is a need to make decisions in the national interest by objectively analyzing the events and in this regard the responsibility of diplomatic missions is of great significance.
Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhary said he would do his best to promote Pakistan’s interests and welfare of Pakistani community living in the United States.
