MUZAFFARABAD: (Parliament Times) Minister for Education and Muzaffarabad City Development Program, Barrister Syed Iftikhar Ali Gillani has said that provision of equal opportunities to people through reforms in education sector is top priority of the present government.
Talking to various delegations that called on him in Muzaffarabad on Sunday, he said concrete steps are being taken to promote quality education in the state. The Minister said all available resources are being utilized to provide basic necessities of life to masses at their door steps. He said work on various development projects is underway which would significantly improve the standard of living in Azad Kashmir.
He further said that PML-N government steered the state out of the bankruptcy and put it on self-reliance and people are feeling change in their lives. The Minister said government is taking all possible steps for the welfare of the people without any discrimination. He said that government formulated comprehensive policies for the promotion of tourism in AJK so that national and international tourists visit the state and enjoy from natural beauty. The tourism sector not only can fetch revenue for the state but will also provide job opportunities for the local people leading to improvement of their living standard.
He claimed that AJK government has completely eradicate political interference , favoritism and nepotism in government departments including education and now educated people will get jobs opportunities on the basis of merits.
He added that AJK government is paying special attention towards the improvement of education and health sectors, improvement of road, hydroelectric power generation and telecommunication departments. He added that government in Pakistan under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has put the country on the path of progress and prosperity besides successfully addressing the problem of power shortage in the country.
