BAHAWALPUR : At least 200 Houbara Bustards were released in Bahawalpur while more than 300 birds were freed in Rahim Yar Khan for their breeding and rehabilitation.
According to details, Houbara Foundation received more than 500 houbara bustards as a gift from Abu Dhabi. The foundation said Arab countries have promised to give more birds and deers for National Park.
Earlier, Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif had approved grant of Rs25 crore for houbara bustard endowment fund. The fund will be utilized for the rehabilitation center and breeding of the rare bird.
The representatives nominated by PM Nawaz held consultation with the provincial governments over the matter.
