Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) The AJK Legislative Assembly on Monday strongly condemned the terrorist acts at Lahore, Sehwan Sharif, Peshawar and Quetta and expressed shock and grief over the loss of precious human lives. The house through various resolutions observed that such cowardice acts are deep rooted conspiracy against the security and stability of Pakistan. It expressed resolve that people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan will foil the conspiracies of the enemies of Pakistan and will never accept the diktat of the forces of terrorism and extremism being used by the enemies of Pakistan. The house further observed that the latest wave of terrorist act in the country are part of well thought-out conspiracy against the economic development of Pakistan continued under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and against China Pakistan Economic Corridor. The house fully supported the steps being taken by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa for elimination of terrorists in the country under Radul Fasad Operation. Through another resolution tabled by MLA Abdur Rashid Turrabi and MLA Rifat Aziz, the house express its complete solidarity with the people of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir struggling for the rights to self determination. The house condemned the continued detention of Syed Ali Shah GIllani, Mir Waiz Umar Farooq, Yasin Malik, Shabir Ahmed Shah, Asia Andarabi, Massarat Alam and others pro freedom leaders.
Earlier the house unanimously passed a draft law ‘Azad Jammu Kashmir Emergency Service Rescue 1122 Act, while a draft law Azad Jammu Kashmir Legislative Assembly (Amendment) Act 2017 referred to Standing Committee of the house. Senior Minister Ch.Tariq Farooq told the house during question hours that minimum monthly wage of a laborer is Rs.14000. However he said that work charge employees are getting less monthly wage because of the scarcity of funds. He assured the house that government will take steps to get additional Rs 30 million from finance department to pay the work charge employees according to the principle of minimum wage. While replying another question asked by MLA Raja Abdul Qayyum, Minister Education Barrister Iftikhar Gillani told the house that government is taking concrete steps for promotion of Scouting and Guiding in Education Department. He told that under the instruction of Prime Minister, Education ministry is preparing a PC-1 for construction of Scout Headquarters at Rara near Muzaffarabad. He said the Project would be completed with the estimated cost of Rs. 215.461. The Law Minister Raja Nisar Ahmed Khan while replying a question asked by MLA Ch.Shehzad Mehmood told the house there are seven employees of Municipal Committee Naseerabad while the committee has total funds of Rs.647537 of which Rs.460000 are outstanding with taxes/pension contribution local government board. Replying yet another question asked by MLA Abdul Majad Khan, the Law Minister told the house that two persons were appointed as Municipal Magistrate without two years experience as practicing lawyer.
