Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) The public accounts committee of Azad Jammu Kashmir legislative assembly met here at committee room of assembly hostel on Friday. Chaired by Chairman of the committee Chaudary Muhammad Ishaq, the meeting was attended by its members Chaudary Masood Khalid, Dr Mustafa Bashir, Secretary of the committee Chaudary Basharat Hussain and the entire principal accounting officers of government departments. Addressing on this occasion chairman of the committee Chaudary Muhammad Ishaq called upon the government departments to observe stricked financial discipline to achieve the development goals of the government. He said that PAC is determined to functionalize the departments and warned that those department fail to perform according to rule and law would be held accountable. He said that the government departments responsible of nation building would have to utilize public funds with at most responsibility and honesty. He added that PAC would play its role to rectify the wrong doings of the departments. He also directed the official concerned to complete development projects within time and in accordance with the specification. Speaking on the occasion member of the committee Chaudary Masood Khalid said that public funds and budget is trust of the public and we are custodian of it. It is our legal and moral responsibility to spend every penny of the budget with honesty and responsibility. He said that officers would not be allowed to use vehicle beyond their entitlement. Member AJK Legislative Assembly, Dr Mustafa Bashir speaking on the occasion said that committees of the house are important to oversight the progress and performance of the government and it’s department. The principal accounting officer of different departments assured that departments would maintain the financial discipline in the light of the PAC directives
