Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) The AJK Cabinet strongly condemned the continued atrocities perpetrated on innocent Kashmiris by lndian forces in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The cabinet meeting held on Friday at Prime Minister Secretariat with Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan in the chair.

The Cabinet unanimously passed various resolutions condemning unprovoked Indian firing on the Line of Control including on a passenger Bus in Neelum Valley and ambulance at Nikyal sector ,Cabinet condoled with the families of the martyred  and offered Fateha for those lost their lives in the shelling. The cabinet also paid rich tributes to Jawans and officers of Pak Army who embraced “Shahadat” while defending the home land.Cabinet  said India is trying to divert attention from its ongoing atrocities and brutalities in the occupied Kashmir. The meeting demanded the United Nations and other human rights organizations to take serious notice of Indian aggression on LoC.

The Cabinet also condemned the Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir including brutal killings of more than hundred persons since July 2016,indiscriminate shooting and beatings causing injuries to over five thousand persons, gross human rights violations and blanket restrictions on freedom of expression, especially on print, electronic and social media. The use of inhumane pellet guns which blinded unarmed protestors including women and children is especially deplorable and is against the canons of international humanitarian laws.

This Cabinet meeting  saluted,and expressed complete solidarity with, the brave people of lndian Occupied Kashmir in their latest popular, spontaneous and peaceful protests against the illegal occupation by lndia and extra judicial killing of Kashmiri youth  and other innocent persons. Cabinet reiterated its continuing political, moral and diplomatic support for this just struggle. The cabinet deplored the detention of Hurriyat leaders Syed Ali Geelani ,Mirwaiz Umar Farooq ,Yasin Malik,women leader Asiya Andrabi and others leaders.

The meeting  called upon the international community to press India to  stop all violations of the human rights of the people in Occupied Kashmir and acts of state terrorism,repeal all black laws like the Armed Forces (Jammu and Kashmir) Special Powers Act, 1990, Jammu and Kashmir Public Safety Act 1978 and others which are repugnant to fundamental rights and human dignity,release all political prisoners, including the Hurriyat Leadership,lift all restrictions on the media and stop intimidation and harassment of journalists,and implement UN Security Council Resolutions promising the right of self- determination to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Cabinet welcomed the inauguration of CPEC projects at Gowadar and said that the CPEC project was a game changer not just for Pakistan but for the whole world, adding that unemployment would also end in Pakistan because of the mega-project. The meeting thanked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for providing Rs 100 million compensation package for the victims of Indian troops’ unprovoked firing along Line of Control (LoC),

The Cabinet highly appreciated the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s efforts for courageously highlighting  the Kashmir issue at international level and drawing the attention of the world community towards the deteriorating human rights situation in occupied Kashmir and exposing the repressive face of India, which claimed be the largest democracy of the world.

AJK Cabinet welcomed the appointment  of Lieutenant General Qamar Javed Bajwa as the new Chief of Army Staff and also congratulated the outgoing Chief of Army Staff General Raheel and his family upon the conclusion of his three-year appointment.

The Cabinet appreciated the Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider for his bold steps to end corruption in the State particularly introducing NTS in AJK for fair appointments in Department of Education since previous government badly violated the merit in the Institution. Cabinet applauded the Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider on his successful campaign in European Parliament during Kashmir week events last month highlighting Kashmir Issue in its true prospective.
