PESHAWAR: Terrorist incidents declined by 68 percent in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province following action under the National Action Plan (NAP) in the wake of Army Public School attack on December 16, 2014, two-year NAP implementation report has revealed.

According to the report, law enforcement agencies carried out over 25,000 operations under NAP in the province over the past two years. More than 100,000 suspects were detained, 10 criminals were executed for involvement in terrorism, 45 terrorists were sentenced to prison while 798 terrorists were arrested by the Counter-Terrorism Department, the report stated.

1,471 kg of explosive material and 12 suicide jackets were seized in operations during the period. Action was taken against 2,178 fake ID card makers and cases were filed against 950 suspects for fake ID verification.

17,972 foreigners residing illegally in Pakistan were deported, the report said.
