Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times)  AJK President Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan has directed state health department to make emergency health care arrangements for the people living along the cease fire line.

He said this during his meeting with AJK Secretary Health, Major General Khalid. Describing those braving Indian bullets as true defender of the country and nation, President said they are the people who make a defence wall against the invasion of enemy by receiving bullets on their chests.

Earlier, Secretary Health told the President that elaborate arrangements have been made to ensure that all requisite health facilities including medicines, doctors, paramedics and ambulances are available to meet and address any emergency. The President informed the Health Secretary about the complaints of non availability medicines and surgeons in Tehsil and District hospital especially in Nakyal Sector.

The Secretary told that Indian shelling started in November this year all of sudden creating problems at some areas, however the health department despite scant resources overcome the emergency situation and now medicines are available at all health facilities with standby ambulance service round the clock.

The secretary further told that health department of Azad Kashmir was working on a long term plan to provide all necessary health care facilities to the people living along the line of control.    He said that all local dispensaries have been provided with sufficient quantity of medicines while surgeons and operation theater staff is available at Tehsil and District Hospitals of the areas located along the LoC.
