ISLAMABAD: (Parliament Times) Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday met with British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson, where the premier also extended an invitation to his British counterpart Theresa May to visit Pakistan.

In the meeting, PM Nawaz said that Pakistan played its role in ending terrorism from the world.

He said that Operation Zarb-e-Azb is in its last stage, adding that Pakistan laid 60,000 lives in fight against terrorism.

“Pakistan considers Britain a trusted partner and a close friend,” said the PM. Both the countries enjoy strong economic ties, he said.

Pakistan is a safe and suitable country for foreign investors, said Boris Johnson. Britain will continue to support Pakistan in GS-Plus scheme, he added.

British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson reached Islamabad Thursday morning on an official two-day visit. The minister was welcomed at the Islamabad airport by Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry officials.

He earlier addressed a joint press conference with Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz.
