Islamabad: (Parliament Times) Federal Minister for Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan Affairs, Chaudhry Muhammad Barjees Tahir has said Imran Khan has acted against the interests of the country by boycotting the address of the Turk president to the joint sitting of the Parliament.

In a statement issued here on Friday, the Federal Minister accused that Imran Khan always preferred his negative politics over the vital national interests. Imran Khan and his party caused irreparable loss to Pakistan in 2014 by staging a Dharana that led to delay of Chinese President’s scheduled visit to Pakistan and subsequently delay in start of China Pakistan Economic Corridor Project of national significance.

Saying that Imran Khan is pushing the country to uncertainty just to satiate his ego, Barjees said now when Panama Leaks case is being heard by the Supreme Court, boycott of the parliament by Imran Khan’s party is incomprehensible.

He said Imran Khan and his party should respect the sanctity of the democratic institutions by keeping the national interests above the personal interests. He added that Pakistan Tehreek-e- Insaf’s popularity graph had plummeted to considerably low because of immature behaviour of its leadership towards important national issues.

The workers and supporters of PTI are quite disappointed and looking for ways to quit the party, the minister claimed and predicted that the party will face humiliating defeat in 2018 elections. He said that PTI got mandate in 2013 elections to bring a change but it neither could laid a foundation of a change nor initiate a single mega project in KPK it rules for past three and half years.
