GWADAR: (Parliament Times) Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Sunday arrived at the Gwadar Port to start off shipment of trade
goods to the international markets, heralding the launch of massive
trade activities under $46 billion flagship of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and turning the Gwadar Port a major hub  of regional trade and commerce activities.

The Prime Minister was accompanied by Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Advisor on National Security Nasir Khan Janjua, Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, Mir Hasil Bizenjo of National  Party and Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Amir of his own faction of JUI-F.

They were warmly received by Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri and Minister for States and Frontier Regions
(SAFRON) Abdul Qadir Baloch.

During his day-long visit to Gwadar, the Prime minister  will also address a ceremony of launching the first mega pilot  trade cargo.

The trade caravan has reached Gwadar from China after travelling through different areas of Pakistan under the strict security cover of Pakistan Army and other security agencies  that would now be shipped to its next export destinations.

With the commencement of trade and shipment activities at  the Gwadar Port, the CPEC is all set to become a “game changer”  for Pakistan and the entire region.
