Islamabad: United Nations’s Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Pakistan, Neil Buhne has called on AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan and discussed with him host of social and development issues.
Mr. Neil Buhne took keen interest in extending possible cooperation between UNICEF and and the AJK government in disaster management, mother and child health and environment.  Speaking on the occasion told the UN official that United Nations, its subsidiaries and global humanitarian community played a pivotal role in rescue, relief and rehabilitation after the devastating earthquake in 2005.
He said AJK is peaceful region with abundant natural resources and has great potential in different sectors including tourism and hydropower generation to change lives people. The UN Resident Coordinator also presented a booklet to AJK PM regarding the future goals of the United Nation for sustainable development.
