PESHAWAR Â – Police on Wednesday foiled a major terror bid in Peshawar.
Unidentified men had planted a bomb in a vehicle that was standing near a CNG station located in a densely populated area of Channa Phandu.
Police cordoned off the area and vacated the residences close to the CNG station.
Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU) was called in who defused the explosive device and prevented a major destruction.
Assistant Inspector General (AIG) BDU Shafqat Malik said that the terrorists targeted the CNG station to cause destruction at a major level.
Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Operation Sajjad Khan has asserted that the police is alert and the city has been saved from foremost damage.
The residents also appreciated the police for their timely action and raised slogans in their favour.
