Muzaffarabad: National Institute of Disaster Management, Pakistan (NIDM) in collaboration with State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) organized a capacity building workshop on “Role of Media in Disaster Risk Management†in Muzaffarabad on Friday.
Participants at the workshop include media personnel, government public relations officials, journalists and senior representatives of the State Disaster Management Authority. Speakers on this occasion said that media plays a vital role in mainstreaming disaster risk management approaches through public education and responsible reporting.
They urged the media persons to raise awareness about the Disaster Risk Management in the masses. AJK Secretary Information Syed Zahoor ul Hassan Gillani, Senior Capacity Building Specialist of NIDM Brigadier (R) Sajid Naeem and other addressed on the occasion.
