Muzaffarabad: Ashura, the 10th of Muharram ul Haram was observed all over Azad Jammu and Kashmir as elsewhere in the country today with due solemnity and reverence to commemorate the supreme sacrifices rendered by Imam Aali Muqam Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S), his family and companions at Maidan-e-Karbala to the cause of Islam and upholding the truthfulness.
On this occasion various Taazia, Alam and Zuljinnah processions were taken out from different Imam Bargahs at all the district headquarters of the State.
In Muzaffarabad, the state capital main Taazia, Alam and Zuljinnah procession was taken out from Markazi ImamBargah Pir Ilam Shah Bukhari.
It was terminated at the same Imam bargah after passing through its traditional routes. Ulema, Scholars and Zakreen at various vintage points in their speeches highlighted the philosophy of martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Aali Maqam Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S) at Maidan-e-Karbala.
Participants of the procession through resolutions strongly condemned massive human rights abuses in Indian Occupied Kashmir and Palestine.
Through another resolution they condemned the ban on Ashura procession in Indian Occupied Kashmir and demaned to United Nation and international community to play their role in granting Kashmiris their internationally recognized right of self determination.
Senior Member Islamic Ideological Council and Prominent religious scholor Mufti Kafayat Hussain Naqvi will address Majlis-e-Sham-e-Ghareeban at Markazi Imam Bargah Muzaffarabad in the night.
Senior Superintendent Police Muzaffarabad Syed Riaz Haider Bukhari told our Correspondent in Muzaffarabad today that elaborate security arrangements have been made to meet any eventuality and law enforcing agencies have been put on high alert to ensure peaceful mourning procession.
He said that route of the procession was already cleared from the Bomb disposal squard while the snipers were also deployed at the buildings to ensure security of the procession. Cellular service remained suspended today.
