The prime minister drew attention on human rights abuses in Indian Occupied Kashmir and called upon the international community to take notice. Prime Minister Sharif emphasised that the issue of Kashmir was at the core of issues between Pakistan and India and durable peace in the region could be ensured through its resolution.

The prime minister added that it was high time that the long standing issue of IoK was resolved as per the aspirations of the people of Kashmir; guaranteed to them by the UN resolutions.

Pakistan is a peace loving country and pursues the policy of maintaining friendly relationships with all its neighbours, Prime Minister Sharif told the visiting dignitary.

Elaborating on Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir, Prime Minister Sharif said over one hundred innocent people has been brutally killed, hundreds blinded by the use of pellet guns, while thousands had been injured in the last few months alone.
