Peshawar: IMSciences, Peshawar hosted the second round of the 20th All Pakistan Inter-University Declamation Contest for award of the renowned Allama Iqbal Shield. This declamation contest is one of regular activities organized annually by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) to promote communication skills of youth, enhance their understanding of socio-economic & political issues and divert students’ energies towards healthy activities and creative thinking.
Prof. Dr. Habib Ahmad, Vice Chancellor Islamia College University, Peshawar graced the event with his presence as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Muhammad Mohsin Khan, Director IMSciences, Peshawar was the guest of honour at the event. Mr. M. Arshad Kamran, Director General HEC, Regional Centre Peshawar also graced the event with his presence.
Students from 21 different universities, including IMSciences, Khushal Khan Khattak University, Khyber Medical University, Gomal University, University of Peshawar and Abdul Wali Khan University participated in the contest. A total of 55 students presented their speeches before a panel of judges, out of which six lucky winners shined forth. Hamza Tehseen from IMSciences, Sadaf Nawab from Khyber Medical University and Harram Rahim took first, second and third positions respectively in the English declamation contest. Danish from Khyber Medical University, Amir from Gomal University and Shahid Khan from Gomal University secured first, second and third positions respectively in Urdu declamation contest.
