Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has retrieved costly land worth billion of rupees from the encroachers during its ongoing operation against encroachments.
CDA has launched operation against encroachments on the special directions of Prime Minister Imran Khan and apex court. The inner sources stated that both CDA and Islamabad administration have created history by demolishing the costly buildings of prominent personalities of the country as these huge buildings were illegally established on government land.
According to detail, grand anti-encroachment operation of CDA and Islamabad district administration has launched on Islamabad’s Kashmir Highway some days earlier.
As per statistics authority had flattened number of buildings erected illegally and retrieved costly land from land grabbers. All the major marriage halls, famed international food chains and hostels were demolished.
CDA Member State Khushal Khan supervised the whole operation. Number of personnel of Islamabad police, Rangers, Elite Force and CDA took part in the operation. The authorities do not faced any sort of resistance during the operation however; the owners maintained that CDA and district administration caused loss worth million to them without any prior notice.
On the other hand, the authorities while rejecting the accusations have said that several notices were issued to the owners but no one implemented over them.
They declared that the operation will continue until the complete elimination of encroachments. However, the staff spared the marquees, showrooms and hotels during the encroachment drive.
The Authority has 300-feet wide acquired land on both sides of the Kashmir highway. Although service road can be used to reach the Kashmir Highway, the owners of the marquees and showroom have carved direct access to the highway in a clear violation of the rules.
