Rawalpindi: (Parliament Times) Striving for establishment of Drug Free Society at global level, Anti Narcotics Force Pakistan is arranging a Drug Awareness Painting Competition on 25th June 2018, in collaboration with Rawalpindi Arts Council to mark International Day Against Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking at highest esteem. The event is being arranged at Rawalpindi Arts Council while Director General Anti Narcotics Force Major General Musarat Nawaz Malik HI(M) will grace the occasion as chief guest. Prizes will also be distributed amongst the participants wining positions.
Similarly, on 26th June 2018, Anti Narcotics Force Pakistan is also arranging a Drug Awareness stage Drama “Andheri Raah Ka Musafir” in collaboration with Rawalpindi Arts Council at Auditorium of Rawalpindi Arts Council, near Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Murree Road, Rawalpindi. Another Drug Awareness Drama is also being arranged at Auditorium of Murree Arts Council, Jinnah Road, Murree in collaboration with Pattan Lok Natak, Aim Association and Rawalpindi Arts Council.
Objective behind the organization of Painting Competition and Stage Drama is to commemorate International Day Against Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking with realistic passion, to create awareness against the drug abuse in general public and to engage and attract young generation towards healthy activities against drug abuse. It may be recalled here that 26 June is observed as “International Day against Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking” at global level, hence it is the most appropriate occasion for creating mass awareness among the masses against hazards of drug abuse and illicit trafficking with much conscious fervor.
It is pertinent to mention that National Anti Narcotics Policy 2010 lays special emphasis on coordination and cooperation among federal and provincial agencies for the purpose of eradicating drug abuse from the country through devotion, dedication and hard work. And attainment of ultimate goal of “Drug Free Society” will be the only acceptable end-game in war against drug abuse.
On 26th June 2018, Anti Narcotics Force Pakistan is celebrating International Day Against Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking throughout the country with national esteem. A lot of drug demand reduction / awareness activities including walks, games/ sports competitions, speech/ debate competitions, lectures, seminar and workshops have been planned to mark the day with highest zeal and fervor.
In addition to these on ground activities, display of banners, steamers, panaflexes at Airports, Railway Stations, Bus Addas and other important public places, advertisement in electronic and print media, playing of ANF Awareness Video messages on LEDs installed at Airports & Railway Stations and other prominent places and on local cable TV channels are being organized in different cities of the country.
Likewise awareness for general public through Bill Boards, LEDs, Steamers, Banners and distribution of awareness Material e.g. brochures, pamphlets and leaflets is also being arranged in different parts of country especially major cities i.e. Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta and Rawalpindi through Regional Directorates of ANF Pakistan.
Further, Ministry of Religious Affairs has also been approached to direct Khateebs, Ullemas and Imams of all Masajids, Imam Bargahs and Dargahs in the country to pay special attention towards prohibition and hazards of drug menace in Jumma Speeches especially before and on 26th June 2018. All cellular companies will forward Drug Awareness Message “Say No To Drug” to all mobile users of Pakistan. TV Channels will play ANF Video Public Service Message on 26th June 201
