Islamabad: Federal Government has decided to install CCTV cameras in the canteens of educational institutions of the Capital to stop sale of drugs.
According to media reports, a high level meeting of school owners under deputy commissioner Islamabad Hamza Shafqat held at which directions have been issued to school owners for installation of cameras in the canteens within the next seven days.
SPs and Assistant Commissioners were also directed to take forthwith action against those found involved in selling cigarettes and drugs in the premises of schools.
During the meeting Deputy Commissioner said that the nearby police stations should be informed immediately about sale of drugs or cigarettes inside or in the premises of schools.
It has been directed to respective ACs and SPs to remain vigilant and carry out on time action in order to rein in this illegal activity.
